he Zakat arm of Nasrullahi Fathi Society (NASFAT), NASFAT Agency for Zakat and Sadaqat says it has raised over N245m in the last six years of its operations.
The Chairman, Alhaji Hafiz Bakare, disclosed this in the agency’s 2019 Annual Reports and Accounts.

He said over 35,000 indigents had benefited from the donations through various initiatives.
He also disclosed that the agency has disbursed N40 million in equipment and cash to indigents across Lagos State in furtherance of its promotion of the institution of zakat and alleviation of poverty.
At the Muharram Special Distribution ceremony held at Lagos Secretariat Mosque, Alausa Lagos, the Chairman stressed that the agency remained committed to improving people’s lives and cushioning the effect of the present economic meltdown.
The Chief Missioner of NASFAT, Imam Abdulazeez Onike tasked the beneficiaries to use the equipment and the money doled out to them to improve their financial standings.
“Zakat distribution is a demonstration of the fact that Islam is a way of life. Which is in line with NASFAT HELD policy, (Health, Education, Livelihood and Dawah) policy,” he said.
He enjoined the Muslim Ummah to always give to the needy. “We must ensure that wherever we found ourselves as Muslims, people in our environment must live a good life regardless of their faith, gender and status.
